KBAM Radio: Allen Toussaint

My music is homegrown from the garden of New Orleans. Music is everything to me short of breathing. It has a role to lift you up - not to be escapist, but to take you out of misery.
— Allen Toussaint

The city of New Orleans is close to our hearts at BAM and no one quite captures the sonic soul of Nola better than it’s favorite son, Allen Toussaint.  We’ve got Allen to thank for making things funky, from his stints as producer, pianist and composer for hometown artists like The Meters and Dr. John, to his incredible string of solo albums.

The great Mr. Toussaint passed on into the sweet southern skies in 2015, but his legacy of good vibes and good times lives on. Take a listen and we think you’ll agree, the world is better place with this man’s music in it.
